Join Tom Hicks of Black Country Type on a photo walk around Stourbridge. Find out about Tom’s process and take your own photographs, beginning at I’m Lucky store then join us for a chat and refreshments in the shop after.
The work of artist Tom Hicks, Black Country Type is a colourful photography project that has gained international attention. His work been featured in international art magazines, including the US contemporary photography magazine NOICE.
Tom’s images focus on words, typography, handmade lettering and signs. He also photographs ‘types’ of architectural features and objects in the post-industrial landscape of the Black Country.
Meeting at 10:30am on Saturday 2nd October at 12 Victoria Passage DY8 1DP. The walk will be approximately an hour and a half followed by 30 mins back in the shop to find out more about Tom’s work.
Smartphones with cameras are preferred but feel free to bring a digital camera. You’ll be encouraged to tag your photographic outcomes so that we can collate them for a post afterwards.
This is a ticket only event and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. If we have to cancel this event a full refund will be provided.
